Crate advice PLEASE!
Hi everyone! My little Murphy is crate trained and even though he sleeps in our bed at night, he takes naps and likes to relax in his crate during the day.
Tonight, I was in bed checking something when I suddenly heard him cry in pain. He was chewing on the side wires of his crate and somehow got either his lower jaw or bottom teeth stuck between the bars. I ran over and was able to help him free himself by gently moving his jaw a little bit.
He seems totally okay now, but it scared me so badly and I’m terrified it could happen again when nobody is nearby. I want to replace this crate ASAP.
Does anyone have recommendations for safer crate options for a mini dachshund puppy? We’re in the USA. I attached a picture of the crate and my sweet buddy Murphy 🩵 He just turned 5 months old last week.
