Need your advice on transitioning to EFF
Hello, I am 11 weeks pp and I’ve been combo feeding my baby since she was 2 weeks old. My baby had lost 16% of her birth weight so her pediatrician suggested supplementing with formula, we even got several cans of Similac 360 to do so. Because of all the pressure I got from my mom (who was staying with us to help as I am a FTM) and others to breastfeed I started pumping to be able to see how much my baby was taking. At the beginning I had a good supply, but because I was not able to learn fast enough the gist on pumping my supply plummet! I made my peace on combo feeding but have been pumping every day 7 times a day to only get 7-8 oz in total. The time pumping takes made it harder to be present for my baby and I’ve had multiple arguments with hubby because of how irritable I am because of the exhaustion! I’ve decided to start weaning down as soon as I hit the 12 weeks mark (5 more days). One because I want to be able to soothe my baby whenever she needs me and be present for her, two because I’m looking for a job, three weeks want freedom to go out and enjoy life with babygirl and three my mom is going back home so I won’t have the help I had with her.
Anyways, I need some advice on how to do the transition to 100% formula, my baby’s been taking 16 oz of Bobbie Organic Whole Milk and 8 oz of breastmilk in a day, she would do four 3.5 oz bottles of a mix between BM and F and then two 3.3 bottles of formula at night and a 3.5 oz bottle of formula in the morning. This being said, my baby is used to drinking just formula, I want to know if we should keep the ~24 daily ounces, if we should increase/decrease the amount, and also what to expect since she is a spitter, suspected to having reflux (we’ve tried Bobbie Gentle already and she likes the Organic Whole Milk better) once we fully transition.
For context I am planning on slowly weaning down the pumping.
