Should I Re-certify?
Hello, was hoping to get some advice.
My 120th payment for PSLF is on Aug 13, 2026 and I am currently on PAYE. My MOHELA platform says my “Pay As You Earn - Ends 08/13/2026” however my recertification is due July 9th per MOHELA. Though on studentaid it says my recertification Date 08/13/2026.
The last time I submitted a recertification was before COVID and my income has changed a lot since then (I also filed married jointly for 2025 tax filing since I am expecting forgiveness after August).
Should I recertify or just let my PAYE “expire” on the same date as my last payment? Will I get in trouble if I don’t recertify on July 9th?
Also, my original 120th payment was supposed to be June 13th but I lost 2 months to MOHELA platform transition and I don’t want to wait out for buyback offers since I am so close to being done.
