Please tell me it gets better! 😆

Please tell me it gets better! 😆

Hi all,

I'm currently in the trenches with my 8-month old pup. I'm not sure what I really want by posting this - I know his behaviour is just puppy stuff but wow, he's such hard work. He is on a whole other level and now he has realised his size and is really using it to his advantage. I find it so validating hearing other stories about puppies being difficult and then turning into the best dog. Please tell me I'm not the only one! 😆

I'm really trying to work on training but his stubbornness is unreal! And mixed with his intelligence seems to make for a very tricky combination! It doesn't matter if I have the most high value thing in the world, if he doesn't want to do something, he simply won't.

Today he decided he wanted to play tug with my arm and my trousers and I didn't immediately have a toy for re-direction to hand. I tried to ignore him and be very boring so as to not encourage the situation but he ended up actually really hurting me and I'm worried about him doing this to someone else.

He's funny and so goofy but WOW he's difficult. My other dog has always been very easy to train, loves pleasing me and generally likes being with me so this has been a very humbling experience!

Remington - or Rembles for short! - is an absolute terror who doesn't seem to enjoy my company at all - unless , heaven forbid, I leave the room and he realises he's on his own and a meltdown ensues. He adores my other dog but ignores me completely unless it's to steal my belongings or use me as a chew toy.

I know he needs time and more training but please hit me with your wildest Dane puppy stories so I don't feel alone (and ideally follow it up with how good they are now so I know there is hope 😅)

Couples counselling/sexologist in Brisbane?

I'm new to Reddit, so hopefully I'm asking in the right place!

I am a cis, bi female (36) and for the last 7 months I have been in a relationship with my beautiful trans girlfriend (38, started medical transitioning a few years ago).

It is a joy to see her become more and more comfortable within herself and her own body but there are things that still pose a challenge for her.

When it comes to sex, my main priority is that she feels comfortable and that I can support her whilst ensuring we have a thriving sex life that is about respect, fun and connection to each other. I don't ever put any pressure on her and I try to check in with her to see how she is feeling.

However some issues have arisen and I feel concerned they may become between us as a couple. She has spoken about reducing her hormones so that things "work" as I think she is worried I will reject her if they don't - I have told her many times this isn't what's important to me and I really don't want her to do this as the last time she did, her testosterone levels increased and this naturally impacted her psychologically.

I have told her I am not going to reject her because of things she doesn't want to do, or can't do, in the bedroom but I really want us to be able to talk about it openly without her getting scared of potential rejection because the lack of communication is what is more likely to come between us.

I completely understand where her feelings are coming from but I wonder if we were able to chat in front of a professional that made us feel safe discussing trans topics and sex, we would be able to not only improve our communication but also our intimacy.

We are Northside of Brisbane - happy to travel a bit, or even consider online therapy for someone who is knowledgeable and compassionate and will make talking about our sex life to a stranger easy!

My initial searches found 'Sexologie' on the Sunny Coast - not sure if anyone has any experience with them?

Thanks so much in advance

Part Great Dane?!

I'm curious as to whether people think my puppy looks like he could be part-Great Dane?

I fostered him and his sister and he wormed his way into my heart so quickly and became an instant foster fail!

I know their Mum was a Wolfhound although she was not particularly big. They came from a rural pound and who knows who the Dad is!

Him being a possibly Dane wasn't really on my radar but when we are on walks, people presume he is a Dane every time! And, well, with his rapid growth and ridiculous long legs and floppy ears, I am starting to wonder 😆

The adorable tiny puppy in the first photo was him at 8 weeks old at 7kgs at the end of March. The last photo is him with my 30kg 4 year old Amstaff who he is officially taller than now. He is now 5.5 months old and weighs 24.5kg - he is averaging 1.3kg per week.

In terms of his personality - he is ridiculously goofy and incredibly intelligent but so, so stubborn! He has absolutely zero personal space, he thinks nothing of charging over me whilst I'm on the sofa, or, if he's worried about something, coming and sitting in my lap, despite his ever-growing size! His personality is just beautiful - friendly and a bit loopy but also moments of pure calm and utter laziness!

I might get a DNA test one day, although it's not really something I want to spend money on right now when ultimately it doesn't matter - either way I suspect he will end up a giant and regardless of his genetics, I'm totally smitten with him, just curious as to what the Dane experts here think!
