Diapers diaries #2 - WIP of the barrow guards

Diapers diaries #2 - WIP of the barrow guards

This week came so fast !
Newborn is getting more and more active by the day.

I have made good progress on the barrow guards, almost all the steps here are dry brushed or airbrushed.

The remaining steps (brown, beige and red) will require a lot more brush work but I should be done in a few days.
Hopefully, next week I will have started the barrow knights !

Hello everyone,

Following my last post, this is my first update on my paternity leave army.
I think I am averaging 5 diapers per skeleton 💀.

To all parents and future parents out there, new parenthood is an absolutely beautiful and ungrateful experience, try to give alone space to both you and your partner to always give your best self to your newborn.

I received a lot of heat in the last post, I will address them once quickly here:

  1. Let’s focus on the painting and the hobby here! Let’s spread positivity and avoid unnecessary judgmental and condescending comments
  2. Assuming someone’s ability to parent based on dedicated hobby time is a weird projection. For all internet white knights: I can dedicate about 1h30 on average per day to hobby. I do 100% of homemade and healthy cooking, 95% of grocery shopping, 66% of diapers. Baby is breastfed which leaves a few windows here and there. We try to do shifts as much as possible during the night to ensure both my wife and I have some uninterrupted sleep. And finally both my wife and I are 100 % on parental leave.

Now back to the miniatures, I have chosen a high contrast speed painting scheme for the army. I have tested the scheme on the stormcast eternal (see last picture), test models are important before doing an army project.

Most of the painting use airbrush and dry brush (varying size of brush) and require very little precision. The only « proper » painting is the red part, done at the very end.

Next unit is going to be the 20 barrow knights !
