Collective agreement says this can be used to "take care of sick and/or hospitalized spouse or dependant children, up to 3 days at a time".

My spouse has a routine planned medical procedure taking place in a doctor's office, in which someone is needed to go with her, as she isn't able to drive home after and will also be in a fair bit of pain from for the rest of the day. I'd like to be able to take a paid day off and be there for her for this.

Interested to hear what people think re: if this would qualify as a Family Illness special leave paid day off? Can they be planned/booked off in advance?
