I had a couple of 8/4 walnut and white oak boards standing upright in the corner of my garage shop for a year or two. I’m cleaning/reorganizing the shop right now and moved the boards to find this infestation.

A) what am I dealing with and how do I get rid of it?
B) most of my lumber is stacked on wall-mounted shelves. Should I worry about everything that was next to this board?
C) I buy dried boards from reputable mills. Should I do something to avoid this in the future?

Thanks for your help! Not sure that this walnut board is still going to become a stool. 😬
