Cisco MDS 9148T FC 32G best practice - distribute connections across Forwarding Engines or no?

When connecting either a multiple-path target device or initiator device to a Cisco MDS 9148T FC 48-port switch that contains 3 forwarding engines (one for each 16 ports), is it best practice to concentrate those device uplink on ports located on the same Forwarding Engine, or best to distribute the connections across multiple forwarding engines? How would having those connections configured in a Port Channel vs individual connections affect the answer - if at all? Soft-zoned for flexibility.

RVTools incorrectly reports CPU Topology for 8.x vm HW v21 ?

I've been unable to find other references to this which is surprising given how long ago vSphere 8.x and VM Hardware v20 was released, but I am upgrading VM Hardware on some older HW version vm's in order to take full advantage of the automatic cores/sockets assignment "Assigned at power on" setting, and I am noticing that RVTools does not correctly report the sockets and cores per what is shown in the CPU Topolgy tile. For example, after upgrading vm HW from version 14 to version 21 and setting the "Assigned at power on" setting for an 8 vCPU vm, the CPU Topology tile in the vSphere GUI shows 1 socket with 8 cores - which is what I would have expected it to assign based on the underlying CPU architecture. But RVTools 4.7.1 output after the change shows 8 sockets with a single core/socket for that vm- which is obviously not correct. Is anyone else seeing the same in their environment? Here's an image showing the disparity.
