So, before you go in on me for having this Tree of Heaven cut down, you should know that I hacked and squirted this behemoth in September. It had failed to leaf out (though it is only mid-May), so I think it’s safe, but whatever happens next, happens.
…in addition to the runners this one inevitably will put out, there will be others to watch out for because there are other large ToH that are not on my property.
Thanks to this sub, I have been on a crusade against the invasives in my yard here in NY. I gapped a 4” english ivy stalk to save one of my red oaks, and in this tree removal process had all of my wind-seeded Norway maples removed.
