Got P1 instead of PPR (I'm Outland)
I received the PR Portal (P1) email instead of a Passport Request (PPR). Since I’m currently outside Canada, I replied to the P1 email requesting that my application be processed as an outland applicant, as I won’t be able to complete the PR portal process from outside Canada.
In my reply, I selected “YES” for being outside Canada and mentioned an expected return date of 01/08/2026 because I thought they were asking when I planned to return after approval.
Today, IRCC replied asking me to complete the process once I return to Canada. I have now responded explaining that I do not have a valid visa to return to Canada and requested that they issue a Passport Request (PPR) instead. I also submitted a webform with the same explanation.
Has anyone been in a similar situation? If yes, how long did it take for IRCC to issue the PPR after informing them you were outside Canada?
