ES601 decaf options
Hello everyone,
I own the ES601. My girlfriend and I sometimes like to have a decaf cappuccino.
We have bought a little Illy can of ground coffee beans.
Besides that we also have whole beans in our hopper.
Whenever we decide to have decaf coffee, I use the portafilter with the funnel on a scale and measure the coffee manually. It varies whether we use a single or double basket.
Following this, I put the portafilter in the grouphead just like I do whenever I let the machine grind the beans first. My ‘problem’ is what follows next; regardless of what basket I use, it always seems to default to the double basket.
My question for you all is; do some of you experience this too? I’m on my second machine at the moment, my previous one did the exact same thing. I thought it was a faulty machine, but now I’m starting to think that this is not the case. The coffee it brews is perfectly fine to us, no problems there. The frother also works well.
