I will most likely be moving to WA in 2027, and I'm trying to figure out what all to expect and what I need to spend the next year preparing. I'm a certified teacher in my state (6 years experience certified, 2 years abroad uncertified), but I know I'll need to take WA's exams to transfer my certification.

I've heard that most postings for English and Social Studies and English together. Is that true?

Beyond that, I know there are layoffs everywhere right now for declining enrollment. How difficult do you think it might be for me to get a job coming from another state?

I know it's hard to know for sure a year out, but with certifications and such, I'm trying to plan ahead so things are smoother when my family makes the move.
