The Devil Wears Prada 2: I hate what they did to Emily’s character

The first half of the movie had me thinking "Ay wow! Good for you beh" pero by the end, it was pure "Luh, what did they do to you?"
Grabe naman. Why did they turn her from a baddie goal digger into a literal gold digger? It makes zero sense. She missed Paris, and Miranda constantly favored Andy even though Emily was fiercely loyal to a fault. It was just heartbreaking watching her get crushed by Miranda and reduced to nothing more than a visionless pretty face.
Yes, I get that she at least earned a friend in Andy. I just think she didn't deserve what happened to her. She was competitive, yes, but she wasn't that desperate to cling to a sugar daddy to get what she wants. She didn't need to wait 20 years for someone to tell her she's iconic because she already knew that from the very beginning.
It would have made way more sense if Miranda finally stepped down, Nigel finally took over, and Emily actually got a shot at something big.
