I Need Help Understanding Why I Should Love This Car After A Year of Ownership.
2007 V6 Sport with 141,000km. Stock.
All the previous cars I've owned over the past 20 years:
-manual '97 Tacoma v6
-manual '99 4Runner v6
-auto '01 Suzuki GV
All absolutely incredible vehicles. All an absolute joy to drive. I still have the Tacoma and it's still a 10/10 at 492,000km and I'm not nice to it.
I needed a family car that I could be excited about (wife wouldn't go for a mini van, my first choice) and this absolute mint 2007 came up for a way low price (I actually paid more than listing and still got it for a steal). Single owner old man with meticulous dealer receipts since new. Garage kept since new. Perfect frame. Seat covers. The whole bit. In like new condition except for a small radiator leak.
His phone is blowing up. It's 7am am. I offer 1k over and buy it. New radiator, breaks and fluids.
The thing has no guts. It literally is ass at any kind of highway acceleration.
The accumulator started to go and I'm being quoted the price of the vehicle to replace it.
3yo kid swung a swing into it and the spoiler broke off. A 3yo kid and a swing. Now i got holes in my rear hatch.
Oh great it's got x-reas suspension, I can't wait for that to blow (it is pretty cushy while it works, I'll give it that).
Cool, a locking center "diff". That was just called regular 4x4 in my other vehicles.
I thought maybe I could be fine with a fly-by-wire 4x4 system but it turns out I cannot be fine with it.
I get why the DAC button was unplugged. That is the most excruciating experience a properly functioning vehicle can produce.
My head touches the ceiling.
What's with the huge-ass bumper?
When does it start to feel sweet?
What makes it so good?
Why do you like yours?
Help!
