The 1988 Playmates Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (TMNT) action figures
This initial wave is famous among collectors for their distinct design choices, such as using genuine fabric for Splinter's robe and Shredder's cape. This early production run in 1988 also included "soft-head" variants made of rubbery plastic before switching to standard "hard-head" plastic molds in late 1989.
