How much do you really trust Day 1 CPT universities?

Just curious to hear different perspectives on this.

If Day 1 CPT is a legal pathway for professionals to continue working while studying as part of their academic program, why don’t we see this option offered more commonly at highly ranked or well-known universities?

I understand CPT itself is allowed under F-1 regulations when it’s an integral part of the curriculum, and some universities structure programs around that. But I’m trying to understand the long-term implications.

For people who chose Day 1 CPT:

  1. How did you evaluate whether a university was legitimate and low-risk?
  2. Did you have concerns about future visa stamping, H-1B, or green card processing?
  3. If a visa officer asked why you moved from working full-time to enrolling in a Day 1 CPT program, how would you explain that decision convincingly?

Not judging anyone’s choices, I know everyone’s immigration journey is different. Just trying to understand the risk/reward and how people think about it.
