I'll be downvoted to hell, but I'll say it anyway because it's my gut feeling and I'm sure someday she'll talk about it.

She left Cody for Zach (after she was sure he wanted to be in a relationship with her), but she was miserable in the marriage for a long time and eager for a reason to leave mainly because Cody lost touch with reality and became far too entangled in and passionate about his bizarre conspiracies and beliefs.

She was also fearful for her career because he's an unabashed white supremacist who doesn't keep his beliefs secret.

EDIT: Many people commenting here seem to have missed what I was trying to get across- maybe because I said it too diplomatically.

When I said he "lost touch with reality", I was talking about his mental health, not his politics.

I was once in a relationship with someone who lost his grasp on reality. There weren't many signs of it when we met; they came out later. He adopted very similar beliefs to the ones Cody posts and became extremely paranoid to the point where he was sectioned for months. Looking at Cody's X page will give you a better idea.

Those are not run of the mill pro-Trump posts.
