I was wondering if anyone here knows good places to watch more North Korean films. I’m not sure how many people here are into cinema, but I’ve watched Pulgasari and Our Fragrance and I’d like to explore more DPRK films.
Are there any websites, archives, or places where I can find a larger collection of North Korean movies? Any recommendations would be appreciated.
KCNA has published a new article reflecting on the life of Jo Ok Hui, the first woman to be awarded the title of Hero of the Republic during the Korean War.
The article follows her journey from growing up in a poor peasant family before Korea's liberation to becoming a member of the Workers' Party of Korea and later volunteering to join a guerrilla unit. The article talks about how she was captured after being wounded, refused to betray her comrades despite torture, and was executed in 1950 at the age of 27. The article reflects how Jo Ok Hui is remembered in DPRK historical accounts.
I just wanted to share this here in case anyone is interested in reading about her and DPRK history in general.

As a communist, it seems to me that liberalism claims to focus on eliminating poverty and inequality while preserving the very capitalist system that creates those issues.
When does the blame shift from "bad actors playing the system wrong" to the actual system itself? Why do liberals believe a reformed capitalist market can ever truly solve systemic inequality?
I want to learn more about him and wanted to hear different perspectives. I’m interested in hearing both the positives and criticisms of his leadership and policies.
I’d also really appreciate any recommendations for books, documentaries, lectures, videos, or articles about him (whether supportive, critical, or neutral).
Between Stalin and Trotsky, who do you think was more correct politically and economically? Curious to hear different opinions.
