ELI5 Why does current rise instantly when we switch on the light switch but then decreases gradually?
I have a chemistry exercise where a dye-sensitized TiO2 solar cell is prepared, but by mistake the redox electrolyte is replaced with an inert electrolyte (without redox couple).
When the light is switched on a current first almost instantly increases to 1 mA, and afterwards it gradually decreases up to zero with time. Why does that happen?
