hey all,

so i’ve recently come back to the game after being away for a while.. doing my normal underground build (i’m sure i’m a dwarf at heart), anyways, got my food going good, mead going good, everyone has their own room, lots of goodies, games, all that.. game had been running fine. turned it off, came back a day later, start playing and all of a sudden i have people just randomly passing out for no reason.. i don’t get it? did they change something to discourage underground life? the flooding was a surprise until i saw how you deal with that.. but yea, is this normal or a very odd bug?

Ok, so I’m brand new to Hermes..
I have it running, or seem to.. right now I’ve had it pointed at Gemini and ChatGPT, while those function if I go directly to them, trying to access things via Hermes I am constantly getting “the mode provider is rate limiting requests. Please wait a minute and try again.” So far it seems that is an indicator that Google wants more money for tokens..

So is that normal or am I set up wrong?
Hermes has burned through $100 in tokens in 4 days, unsustainable for me for sure.

So I got a question, situation, I don’t know what to do about it.

When I access protect to look at my doorbell cam (from Reolink), the video plays for about 20 seconds and then buffers, and it buffers BAAAAD!!! Like insanely bad, for video stored on an SSD in the UCG Max, this is brutal! It will typically buffer upwards of 5 minutes before MAYBE playing again for about 20 seconds.

My homelab is pretty solid (I’d like to think? lol), have a USW Pro Max 16 PoE, 3 AP’s (U7 Pro Wall). So I don’t understand why it buffers so badly.
I’d really like to figure this out before the wife starts giving me side eye..

Any idea on how to resolve that??

Oh small update:
This is basically when I’m trying to watch back what’s already been recorded.
Is it possible the SSD is full and needs better settings to control space for recording and playback?

I am looking for recommendations for a local lux sensor, what are folks using? I am not specifically looking for a mm or PIR sensor, if it’s also one then maybe I just don’t need that for my setup. I’m looking to set up some lux sensors for growing veggies in a hydroponic setup. I’m trying to augment the amount of natural like with artificial but sometimes there is plenty of natural but right now the system has no idea.

Suggestions???

I did buy a sensor off Amazon to test, it’s a unit that says it’s Zigbee 3.0 and while I did get it to pair with my system, the device seems to drop off often and then go into pairing mode and just kills the battery when there is lots of nodes around.

Has anyone else had issues where you mark domestic animals for training and they keep unchecking themselves at some point after you close the window?

Hey all,

I am wondering how many folks have used or are using some sort of device that connects to HA that can control crank out style windows (open/close). Outside of it controlling me to say weather is bad and I go turn them lol.

I’d love to find an option that will just slip over the knurled knob for the window.
I have seen some where you replace the mechanism but I don’t think that’s as viable for everyone (renters?) but having something drop over the knob that the crank sits on should in theory be possible? Or am I wrong.
