Can Corfirm Gideon’s Name Translates from Book to Film

idk if anyone else was wondering about whether “Kylie’s love interest“ (as Wikipedia so lovingly refers to Xolo Maridueña’s character) would be some version of Gideon from the books, but according to this Fandango press interview, that is the character’s name.
