Full time tac med careers
Evening everyone! I’m a full time firefighter/medic and an armed tactical medic for our county’s SRT. Our team is part time and is comprised of Leo and Fire. I went through a modified version of the police academy to be allowed to carry a firearm. Has anyone transitioned to a full time swat/SRT role? I enjoy firefighting but I’m very drawn to the tactical medic side of things and would like to gather information on how to make this my full time career. I’ve also seen a small number of people who work in dual role positions that are police/paramedics. This also sounds interesting.
For background info, I’m based out of Ohio. I’m a TECC instructor and also an ACLS and PALS instructor. I also am an adjunct EMS instructor at a local community college.
