Workers Comp questions

I'll try to keep this short and to the point.

Over two months ago I broke my 4th metarsal at work. I followed the doctors instructions and wore a boot waiting for it to heal. It is non union and isn't healing. My doctor said I had an old jones fracture on the same foot that healed but got hurt again at work.

The doctor is saying my breaks are pre existing injuries according to the radiologist. Fast forward to today I went back to work a week and a half ago and had bad inflammation after work. I requested to see the doctor again before going back to work. I have a non union 4th metatarsal and the insurance company is telling me I'm basically on my own from here. The x rays have actually gotten worse (larger gap) since the accident though it is stable or not displaced.

I see my workers comp doctor again on Wednesday. I see the specialist for a follow up in 2-3 weeks. I go back to work on Thursday or go broke without a paycheck regardless of the inflammation. I showed the adjuster the doctors note from the specialist for work until I see him again. Work says that my workers comp doctor needs to clear me again.

What should I do? What should I ask the doctors?

I'm in my mid 20s and work a construction job. I broke my foot 2 months ago at work simply walking down the hallway and twisting onto my foot. When I seen the doctor after a couple visits (not sure if it was the 2nd 3rd or 3th visit) he told me it turned out to look like a previous fracture that I refractured but I somehow didn't notice the previous one. (The jones or 5th metatarsal)

I returned to work Wednesday because of no pain. However after working yesterday I had a bunch of inflammation like I did after I got hurt at work. I didn't have true pain as in the normal broken bone feeling in the foot after a week or two. The only symptom I have most of the time is inflammation and tingling after work.

It's a non union jones fracture and it have a 4th metarsal fracture from the incident as well. I called both my workers comp doctor and the specialist he referred me to. I don't see the specialist again until a month from now. I told the specialists office how I had a ton of inflammation after work. They are giving me a prescription for the inflammation and a doctor's excuse from work until I can see them again.

I'm out of work and a paycheck now for the foreseeable future and I don't see the specialist that my workers comp doctor referred me to again for a month. They said they would try to help me and move up the appointment if possible.

Advice on what to ask the doctors when I ask for a change from the panel.
