Need a fun and cheap/free distraction from my grief. Thoughts on what’s going on today that’s not the usual?

Hey, friends. I’m dealing with a sudden family tragedy, and I’d like to get out of my apartment (Uptown, edge of Five Points) for the day.

Now, I run my own small walking tour business in the area, so I’m not only familiar with most ongoing fun things, I’m also too poor to spend much, lol. Also, I can get around the city despite having no car (and may be able to rope a friend or two with a car into hanging out, if work/kids don’t preclude it).

So, if you were wanting to do something fun today that wouldn’t make you think of your mom too much, what would it be?

I appreciate your help in advance; thank you, awesome people of Denver, for any of your suggestions.

My little love

I’ve posted pictures of her here before, but I wanna post one now because she really is taking care of my heart in a very difficult time for me. She’s always been far more affectionate than I was led to believe cats can be, but right now she’s very clearly worried about me. This leads to lots of cuddles, lots of purring and biscuit-making, and lots of meows to let me know she’s here.

I don’t think I ever would’ve believed it if I wasn’t experiencing it right now.

(Her name is Mystra. I also call her Midnight. She is magical!)
