5 day water fast, pre-game with sardines?
I think I'm gonna do another 5 day water fast this week. It wasn't that hard when I first tried one a few weeks ago.
But I have a few questions.
I've read a lot about the sardine fast, some people seem to think it kind of jump starts ketosis? Idk if that's true.
I thought maybe I'd eat a can for lunch, and just stay my water fast from there. Would there be any real benefit in doing that, or should I just start my fast since I didn't eat anything yet today?
My other question is about certain pills. If I understand correctly, a multivitamin will break a fast, so I can put that off for now. I always take omeprazole, and I figure that doesn't affect it, but I also always take L-lysine every day.
I mostly take it as a preventative against cold sores, though I always hear it's good for general immune system health.
I'm a little concerned to stop taking the omeprazole and the L-lysine. I guess i could deal with horrible acid reflux or heartburn or whatever it is for a few days, but I really hate getting cold sores. And the L-lysine seems to do a good job at keeping them away, and I have a sneaking suspicion that it's at least some factor in me hardly ever getting sick anymore.
So, should I just start the fast, and skip the sardines? And are omeprazole and L-lysine gonna screw up my fast?
