HD 660s2

Upgraded my Beyerdynamic DT770 Pro X recently, after using Hisenior mega7 and then Softears RSV iems I found the V shaped tuning on the DT didn't suit anymore.

I more than stoked on the quality of the mids and added bass of the Sennheiser HD660s2. They suit my collection perfectly.

The cable is from AliExpress and compliments the headphones perfectly.

I Pair these with Quloos Mub1 in portable form and paired with Fangsound Silenos for desktop setup.

Little collection

Hey all, been in the hobby for a few years now, just thought I would share a few photos and thoughts of my collection.

At the start of the Hobby I thought V style sound was my preferred sound, however after trialing many sets of Iems I have found mid focussed sets suit me more.

Desktop audio

Stack:

Aiyima T20 - Input from Silenos adds warmth to speakers

Aiyima A20 - Input from T20 powers my 2.1 Cabasse system

Fangsound Silenos - Using DAC limits power to 4w (instead of 14w!), superb warm r2r sound, absolutely perfect for smooth mids while maintaining great bass and treble..

I run an IFI IEMatch to use more volume knob when using low impedance headphones/IEMs.

Headphones (Battle of the Germans):

Beyerdynamic DT770 Pro X LTD Edition -

These are fantastic, had them for over a year, good bass and crisp treble, really enjoy them, sometimes vocals can be a little behind in some genres.

Sennheiser HD660s2 -

Perfect Mids and vocals, great all-rounder, I listen to these most of the time, open back I find is nicer to game with also.

Speakers - Cabasse Eole II 2.1, some freebies I got from work, super crisp speakers and a hard hitting 400w 8" Cabasse Santorin 21 subwoofer.

Portable Audio:

Amp:

Quloos MUB1 - Heaps of power, will drive anything I own with ease, great sound, crisp highs, smooth mids and deep controlled bass, slightly warm sound.

Iems:

Softears RSV - Best vocals I have heard on an IEM, and for a 5BA set certainly great bass considering and treble is smooth and never harsh, overall great relaxed listening, will probably be my one and done set.

TWS:

Noble Fokus Prestige - these are mainly used when out and about, these have amazing bass and clear treble and well refined mids (with a little mid boost to eq on the app).

Anyway, that's about it, will stop for a little while and keep enjoying this great hobby.

Happy mid-fi

Will be here in the midfi for a long time, very happy with this combo though!!

Dac - Quloos MUB1, great little device, bluetooth, 1w of power and great sound.

IEM - Hisenior Mega7, great set of Iems, these are accurate, great sound stage, crisp treble, great mids and bass that doesn't overpower anything.

Cable - Kinera Leyding, lightweight, great build quality, swappable ends and looks great.

Bit of an update on my collection, over the last few months I have been going through all my gear finding what I like and don't like about the collection, after careful consideration... I have replaced everything 😂 will add reasons for change.

First photo (current)

Hisenior mega7: Amazing set, everything so clear, crisp and placed so well, great soundstage, only thing mid bass is lacking but sub bass goes low and well controlled. Probably the best vocals I have heard so far. (Reminded me of my Aful p7, but a perfected version)

Noble Fokus Prestige: Best bass I have heard, deep and controlled, not muddy, super comfortable set of tws, great sound, mainly used while walking and working. Treble is missing a little sparkle is probably the only downside of them. They also look awesome.

Quloos MUB1: Main amp/dac, great sound, plenty of power, keeps bass under control and enhances mids in ways I have never heard, plenty of sparkle in the treble too. Bluetooth connectivity is the standout feature, was considering a few options, but they all lacked Bluetooth.

Second photo (before) with reasons for sale:

Noble Fokus pro: Great tws, reason for replacing was the right earbud started malfunctioning, also case wasn't charging buds till it was plugged in. Did enjoy the sound though.

Punch audio martilo: Honestly a great set, bass was very well done but for me they got a bit overwhelming in the end.

Aful p7: My second favourite set I have tried, everything was done well, treble was a little spicy and I found bass not as well refined as other sets I tried.

Aful MagicOne: Reason for buying was looks, they didn't really suit my music taste, however amazing for vocals, more of a trial set.

Shozy p20: Cheap introduction to planer drivers, they were ok, nothing stood out, comfort was also not great.

For reference, I listen to punk, gospel, rock, metalcore, post hardcore and EDM.
