Difficulties with finding a bikebox in Osaka

Looking for advice from anyone who has experience in flying with a bike from Osaka.
I have a flight booked in a weeks time from now and have been running from bikeshop to another asking for cardboard boxes.

A couple of the shops have had some sort of small boxes to spare but I’m an ”extremely” tall guy with a big bicycle that I don’t think I’m able to fit in those. (Not to mention my tent, sleeping bag, helmet etc. that I have to get with me on the plane somehow and would like to stuff them in the box for filling) For context, the box that I flew to Sapporo with had dimensions of 162 x 78 x 28 cm.
Most of the shops have just straight away told me that they don’t have any boxes which has been really surprising to me.

Luckily I still have many days to do my best but the signs are not promising so far. So if there is someone who happens to know a place that might have something for me in Osaka area the information would be hugely appreciated. Any other means by which I can get the bike and all of my other crap from Osaka to Bali are also very welcome.

Feel free to guide me towards more appropriate sub if there is one.

Japan camping advice regarding bears

Seeking bear-related advice from all of you who have experience in riding and camping in a tent around Hokkaido and Honshū.

I'm heading to Sapporo on the 1th of September and plan to spend 6 weeks cycling down to Osaka. For budgeting reasons I'm leaning towards camping pretty much all nights except hopefully few nights spent with Warmshowers hosts. I know bears have lately become slightly increasing concern for people enjoying outdoors in Japan and hence plan to by a bell & bearspray. What interests me is what are peoples experiences with storing food while camping? How frequent are cases where people wake up in the morning or in the middle of the night to find bear in the camp / bags torn to pieces?

Is it just simply a must for anyone willing to spend nights outside to hang food in a tree with a rope, avoid eating within 500 meters from where you sleep, not to bring the clothes you ate in to the campsite etc.? This all seems just so much to worry about on a daily basis. I know some campsites might have lockers / boxes where the food can be stored for the night but I'll definitely be spending many nights at spots where there's no such option available.

Any shared experience, stats or advice is highly appreciated!
