Good afternoon — has anyone here made the pilgrimage to CMP Talladega from California?

I’m considering flying out to purchase an M1 and a barreled action. Ihave purchased one before by mail order, and can satisfy the requirement from the CMP.

My understanding is that the rifles qualify as C&R, so there shouldn’t be any major issue purchasing them as a CA resident? I want to pick-out my next rifle and fly her home with me.

Just curious if anyone from CA has done the trip and has any lessons learned, airline transport tips, or “wish I knew this beforehand” advice.
