PRK recovery
This is just a break down of my PRK recovery so far. Background; -4.0 in both eyes and some astigmatism in both. I also am a significant steroid responder (found out accidentally a few years back taking pred drops for something else. My pressures got to 50 in each eye within 10 days. This is an important detail since I had to do a NSAID and a ABX drop instead of the combo of 3 they usually do that has prednisone in it.
Day 0 surgery was easy 10 minutes, no pain went home, slept and kept eyes closed rest of the day. Felt like I could see almost 20/20
Day 1 some burning in Lt eye, but nothing much in the right. No real pains lots of haze, blurry. Very light sensitive
Day 2 more severe burning all day and crying from the Lt eye. The Rt was now burning some. Haze, same and blurry. Slightly less light sensitive.
Day 3 no burning at all, no pain, slightly less haze, still light sensitive
Day 4 no pain, more or less the same
Day 5 post op app, Lt 20/30 Rt 20/25 and got lens removed. Right after removal my vision seemed to be worse the entire day and started to feel dry. (On this day I also started glaucoma drops to keep eye pressures down twice a day and a less powerful steroid drop 4 times a day.
Day 6 (today) woke up EXTREMELY dry to the point where it hurts to blink. I’ve used so many refresh drops and nothing seems to help much. I have noticed when I put in the drops I feel like I can see 20/20 and very clear along side some continued haze. Not as light sensitive but I am still wearing my sunglasses just incase. I also drove yesterday and today, while it’s rough I can still see enough to drive. Looking at texts on phone is hard as everything is almost double. Currently I hope I can get rid of this severe dry eye if so it woudnt be so bad.
