What is this synthetic name?
I’m trying to figure out the name of this trendy synthetic. It’s in a lot of new scents. It isn’t Oud but often accompanies oud. It’s masculine, astringent, smells exactly like acetone. Making a lot of trendy scents smell like nail polish remover.
Oil as a carrier instead of alchohol
Does it differ from scented body oil and solid perfume? It’s all made the same way right, just essential oils and oil? How do solid perfumes achieve their projection?
Can you commission a perfumer to dupe?
Dupe brands often have synthetic smells. Is there no incentive for dupe brands to use expensive oils in addition to utilizing gas chromatography/mass spectrometry? Do labs or perfumery schools offer having your fragrances analyzed with GC-MS? I would pay 33 million dollars to have my discontinued fragrance re-created, once my bottle turns.
How to add oils to finished fragrances
I’m trying to add cuminaldehyde to my designer scent. Is there any protocol, or do I just add it to my liking? I’m new to perfumery.
What’s stopping the entire store from being Archives?
Out of all the jeans, the archive jeans have the coolest designs, for my taste. I don’t mind that they’re slightly off from the original cuts. Other cuts I do wish came back in stock though. Would everything turning archival just be too confusing?
