Moving to Lakeland & kindergarten option for my 5y/o
Help!!
I’m moving to Lakeland and could really use some advice from local parents.
My son is 5 years old and will be starting kindergarten. I’ve been researching schools and applied to several that seemed like a good fit, including Lakeland Montessori, Magnolia Montessori, McKeel Academy, and WonderHere. Unfortunately, it seems like almost every school I’ve looked into uses a lottery system, and we’ve been waitlisted everywhere so far.
I completely understand why the lotteries exist, but it’s been discouraging since we’re moving to the area later than many families and it feels like we’re already behind.
Have any of you gotten into a charter school off a waitlist? And if so, is this like a rare thing?
Are there public elementary schools in Lakeland that you would highly recommend?
If you moved to Lakeland recently, how did you navigate school enrollment?
I applied to charter schools but I’m open to any suggestions!!!
