Lifetime issues never treated

Without being too long winded Ive have insomnia since I was about 12-13 years old. This triggered a very innocent but serious opiate addiction in my early teens (this was in the hayday of pill mills). Eventually I was caught and a doctor put me on benzo's, we all know how that goes. Anyway in my early 20s this evolved into an alcohol problem and I drank for about a decade. It wasnt a horrible problem but I could feel the health effects. Since then Ive relied on cannabis to sleep.

Only was prescribed ambien once for a couple of weeks, but i built a tolerance within days.

Currently on bupropion (antidepressant) which makes my insomnia worse but absolutely solves my depression.

Anyway, where would one start with telehealth insomnia treatments? My current provider is only allowed to prescribe one medication at a time and suggested I look elsewhere. Ive gone through all of the OTC and herbal treatments. Just want to know where to start thanks!

And if anyone has experience with bupropion Id love to hear how you deal with insomnia.

How are we sleeping?

Ive been on and off this medication three times. In the past I quit for two reasons, inability to sleep, and inability to feel other substances. Since Im completely alcohol and kratom free now my experience has been way better and I upped my dosage to 350 mg. Immediately the insomnia and anger side effects came back though and with that some heavy cannabis smoking to even me out. This is not a huge problem (completely legal) and it smooths things out nicely but I just cant function stoned all the time.

My SO is extremely very happy with me coming out of depression but a little concerned about me getting up in the middle of the night to smoke myself back to sleep. I have dropped back down to the minimum dose for now but really like how much more productive and active I am on the larger target dose.

So long story short has anyone found an "off switch" for this medication at night? Or a companion medication? I think my irritability would decrease if I got proper deep sleep.

Thanks
