Typo in conference abstract - what to do?
Hi all,
I’ve recently submitted an abstract to an international scientific conference - submission window closed, awaiting outcomes.
I ran both binary logistic regression and updated to cox models for my data. My abstract methodology doesn’t explicitly say either of these due to a very tight word count, but would probably be interpreted as Cox.
I’ve now realised that I’ve mistakenly put my unadjusted OR from my binary model instead of the adjusted HR in my results section. It doesn’t change the overall conclusion, but the numbers are different (think HR of 5 when it should read 1.8)
Not sure whether I should:
leave it for now. if accepted, change the HR number in the poster and note typo in a footnote and present just the OR so that the numbers are the same on poster and abstract.
include both models on my poster as a progression of the analysis and leave the abstract as is.
include both models on my poster as a progression of the analysis and ask for the typo to be corrected if abstract is accepted and is to be published.
I might well be overthinking it, but is my first experience with this and a big conference, and stressing myself out. Any insight or advice would be much appreciated!
