Welp, That Sucked

I have been diagnosed with an autoimmune disease years ago, but mostly in remission until recently. Lately I'm having symptoms that seem to point to no longer being in remission. Generally just feeling like crap most days. I won't elaborate for your sake. I'm getting older and started noticing skin and gut problems that were getting more and more intense. Anyhow, thought I'd try AIP since I was noticing a pattern whenever I eat anything with hot peppers. Or even anything with plain old black pepper was a problem. Like, how unfair?! 😂
I had been doing pretty good I thought. Two weeks in. Cut out the biggest offender which was spicy stuff. Eating lots of sweet potatoes, drinking bone broth, no alcohol, added probiotic, creatine, blah blah blah. So of course I had to test myself by having a bit of a bender today with some fried food, coffee, creamer, ate some brownies, and later, had tomato sauce. And... to no one's surprise my stomach is a mess and my skin is flaring up. But, I just noticed a new symptom - achy joints! And this was kind of a revelation because I thought the reason I was stiff all the time and my neck and knees are snap crackle popping when I move was just normal age related stuff and working a desk job. I guess i hadn't noticed the stiffness was gone until all of a sudden it was back - and like, RIGHT after eating all of these non compliant foods. So I suppose I just wanted to say to fellow autoimmune protocol folks that, HEY! this isn't made up as so many skeptics have said! I really hope I'll be able to eat food with lectins again, but today is not that day and I'm going to take this more seriously now and steer clear of trigger foods. If you made it this far, thanks for reading. 👍
