People of jaipur Ride with responsibility

Living near Jagatpura for the past 2 years has genuinely made me question how some people in Jaipur got their driving license. I’ve ridden bikes/cars across multiple states West Bengal, Gujarat, Assam, Punjab, MP, UP and every place has bad drivers, sure. But the level of rash and careless riding I see daily around Jagatpura and college areas like SKIT, Gyan Vihar, VGU etc. is honestly on another level. Overspeeding, random wrong side driving, parking in the middle of nowhere, opening car door wrong side without looking, using high beam inside city roads like they’re searching for aliens, it’s become so normal that people don’t even react anymore.

And the two-wheelers… absolute chaos sometimes. Half the riders behave like traffic rules are optional DLC content. Narrow roads already have enough congestion, but somehow people still manage to park on the wrong side and block half the lane with full confidence( random car guys and SKIT Buses im talking about you). Then comes the “VIP convoy” of young Thar drivers. White LED lights bright enough to interrogate prisoners, driving on the wrong side like the road belongs to their father’s property papers. Many of them seriously act like buying a Thar automatically upgrades them into some alpha road warrior influencer. Reality check: most people don’t think you look classy, they think you look chapri with EMI.

What actually pushed me to write this was what happened last night. Some random Thar guy came speeding from the wrong side with those eye burning headlights on full blast. I literally had to move my bike on the footpath just to avoid getting hit. For a few seconds I genuinely couldn’t see anything. That’s not “cool driving,” that’s dangerous stupidity. One uncle near the college area once told me, “These guys don’t study, don’t work, they just roam around college roads trying to look rich in front of girls.” Harsh? Maybe. But after seeing this behavior daily, it’s hard not to understand why people say that.

This isn’t written out of hate. Jaipur is a beautiful city and Rajasthan gets tourists from everywhere. But what impression are we giving when roads feel like survival mode? Please, for your own safety and everyone else’s learn basic road manners. Get your license properly. Stop driving like you’re in a Bollywood entry scene. Use low beam in city areas, stop wrong side driving, and ride responsibly.

A vehicle is not a status symbol if you don’t even know how to use it safely.

At the end of the day, traffic rules exist for a reason, not just to pass the RTO test and forget forever. High beam inside city roads blinds oncoming drivers and can easily cause accidents. Wrong side parking blocks visibility and creates unnecessary traffic on already narrow roads. Opening car doors without checking mirrors is one of the most common reasons bikers get injured in cities. And wrong side riding might save someone 30 seconds, but it risks someone else’s life completely. Nobody is perfect on the road, all of us make mistakes sometimes, but basic civic sense and patience can genuinely save lives.

Jaipur deserves better road culture than this.
