Throwback to when Sean played my level in Happy wheels 10 years ago :)

I randomly remembered this fact when I was rewatching the series, it was on the 99th episode (which in hindsight I was lucky to have one before it ended).

You cannot imagine how happy 13 year old me was back then that something I made for him was actually played on his channel, sadly he couldn't finish the level properly (but that was my bad not making it completely clear lol).

Chapter 3 is still the least chapter.

If you like this Chapter it's fine, I just never liked it and recently tried to replay it (as I wanted to get back on track for a perfect playthrough) and remembered why I hated it.

1- Basing the whole chapter on a gimmick, that clearly doesn't work with the game.

Deltarune is an RPG game, this should be the base of it when trying to add different gimmicks.

So far all the gimmicks worked because it complemented the main genre, Chapter 3's Zelda thing failed at that.

You might enjoy it, but it's out of place and took a lot of time from the actual important stuff.

2- Making the secrets too hard to be obtained.

In the first 2 chapters getting the secret stuff was almost always on the table, even if you were on the doorstep of the boss you could still go back and get any stuff you might have missed.

Now suddenly you are straight up locked from getting it because you were a "low rank", and no buying it later isn't a solution because it's too expensive (and you might even lose the points on the way of trying to know this is an option).

I understand having secrets be out of reach, but needing to replay the entire chapter considering most of us play it blind first (when the chapter in question is also not the most fun) is annoying.

If this was the case since the beginning I would understand it, but changing it like that was not good (and it's why I still don't have a perfect playthrough save so far, the Zelda game is boring and bad).

3- The characters are the most uninteresting in all chapters so far, and there are less in comparison.

While Tenna is a fun character, he is by far the least boss you would care about.

Every boss so far has a history that is either being told by them or by other NPCs, this made Queen and King important.. and then you have Tenna who is only sad because people stopped watching him, in comparison that's pretty dull when you don't even get any backstory about him.

Tho you could argue he is still fun..

However Lanino and Elnina are VERY boring, I actually kept skipping their dialogues in the first playthrough something I never do.. the only fun parts about them is when Rouxls Kaard jumps in to mess with them, which says a lot than you need an older character to make a new one feel fun.

And when you look at the main characters those chapters provide, you barely get 4 counting the Knight.. not a good amount, when every other chapters gave you a lot of them making every area fresh.

4- The most uninteresting dark world so far.

Having the whole dark world based on the gimmick, makes the rest of it pretty empty.

This was not a good decision, because if you didn't enjoy the main gimmick you didn't get anything to balance it.

5- How the fun gang is kinda stupid about Toriel.

You know how in chapter 5 we are always trying to find Asgore and save him? Even if we get sidetracked it is still an important task.

This was not the case in chapter 3, the fun gang didn't even think about Toriel until the last third of the game.

I understand the point of (we didn't know the knight was gonna hurt her) but that's just lame, there is a lot of other ways she could have been hurt and it was demonstrated literally the previous chapter so at least be a little worried? But nope the fun gang is just having a game show lol.

TL;DR

This chapter is a wasted potential, the TV world could have been done in a similar way to how Chapter 2 explored the internet.

Instead you get forced to a repetitive game show and boring gimmick, that makes the experience hard to replay it later.
