Hiya, brief question. I’m renting a room in London under what my tenancy agreement calls a 6-month Assured Shorthold Tenancy starting 21 April 2026 (pre-RRA coming into effect). The agreement says I must give at least one calendar month’s written notice if I want to end the tenancy.

However, I understand the Renters’ Rights Act may mean tenants now need to give 2 months’ notice for assured periodic tenancies, unless a shorter period is agreed in writing.

Does the 1-month notice clause in my agreement still apply, or should I give 2 months’ notice to be safe? Thanks!
