PT roller coaster

I feel like I’m going insane. The back and forth pain fake out is making me crazy!!! Was doing PT twice a week for about four months and doing home exercises a few days a week. The whole time was in a constant flare. Had a few weeks off due to scheduling then dropped to once a week. And now off again for two weeks due to PT’s vacation.

My pain and inflammation has drastically reduced. Feels like the less I do the less pain I have. And it’s making me second guess surgery! Has anyone else been on this roller coaster??

Reconstruction-Cadaver or own tissue

Those of you who had a reconstruction…did you opt for cadaver tissue? Or your own?

How did you decide which option? And if you chose your own tissue graft, where was it harvested and did you notice any weakness in that spot after surgery?

How many opinions did you get

Just had a second opinion for surgery and also just booked a third opinion. Living in Chicago provides access to lots of great doctors but it’s giving me analysis paralysis!

First dr (Nho) said let’s try PT first then talk. (News flash…..PT isnt working). Still need to schedule a follow up with him.

2nd dr (Shah) said I’ve done everything I can and said I’m a good candidate for surgery.

3rd dr (Riff) appt is next week.

Considering also booking with Dr. Bhatia at Northwestern.

But how many opinions are too many opinions???? How do you pick the right surgeon???

Mixes type surgery outcome

Went for a second opinion and found out more details from imaging. Labral tear in dual quadrants; superior and anterior. Approx 1-2cm. And confirmed mixed type impingement with crossover sign. No displaysia.

Dr recommended surgery since I’ve done all of the conservative treatment options with minimal improvement. Has anyone with similar diagnosis have surgery? And what was your outcome?

Lidocaine vs Steroid

It’s finally time for an injection. Only getting it because of insurance requirements for surgery. How did you decide which one to get?

No clue where to start

Planning to do a mini refresh for our small Downstairs bathroom. Approx 5x6ft. Toilet, floor tile and shower pan will stay. Would like to install new tile in shower and extend behind a new vanity.

I have no clue where to start with design. Does a pedestal sink make more sense in a small bathroom? Can I go with a dark tile in a small space? Any suggestions for AI design tools?

How much PT before doing surgery?

I’m two months in and so far it’s been a roller coaster. I can tell I’ve gained strength and more aware of body mechanics and activities that trigger pain. Took about three weeks when I started just to get out of the pain loop. Was gaining traction and then the last three weeks has been one step forward and two steps back. Currently spending my anniversary weekend in a massive flare and can’t enjoy anything lately without it triggering pain.

Trying to stay optimistic and keep focused on getting stronger. But man is this mentally challenging!!! I’m ready to throw in the towel on PT and just get the surgery. Still need to get an injection scheduled for insurance requirements and wondering if that might help calm things down enough I can make more progress with PT. At this point I don’t even know what to do anymore.

How long did you do PT before deciding to get surgery?

Just received my xray imaging and noticed this bump. Is this a cyst or a bone spur? Anyone else have something like this in this location?
