What’s a movie that hit differently because it reminded you of someone from your life?
My father passed away 20 years ago, but when I watched Mud it instantly reminded me of him. The constant wild stories, the kind where half of them sounded completely made up — but every now and then you’d find out one was actually true. The rest were so outlandish that maybe nobody will ever know.
Honestly, there were countless little things throughout the film that reminded me of him, but we’d probably be here all day if I listed them all.
He even had a similar accent to Matthew McConaughey in the movie, which I somehow never connected until I saw it. It made me appreciate the film on a completely different level.
What’s a movie that became more meaningful to you because it reminded you of someone or something personal in your life?
Sinners (2025) Pickup lines that only work if you’ve watched too many movies?
Just a real well crafted movie. Some of the scares were done so dam well. The acting was great from every role. The old man who played Jimmy was phenomenal. Adam Scott did terrific. Boy after reading some of this subs reviews on this I half expected to walk out disappointed instead I walked out and wanted more. It’s early but this is the best dam horror flick I have seen this year.
Hard for me to watch this series and be objective considering I think Man on fire (2004) is a masterpiece. As far as action films go this my favorite. What are your thoughts on this series? Fell flat for me..
