I was thinking of buying some extra erasers and lead just to keep on hand since this stuff does come from Japan and could (at some point) become scarce due to tariffs and international shipping disruptions.

BUT ... It occurred to me that these erasers (and lead) could go bad or begin to degrade if not used for a number of years. Does anyone know if erasers have a shelf life ? And how long you can reasonably expect them to last ?

Over the years, I have acquired lots of mechanical pencils - some cheap, some expensive, and even some that many would call the "gold standards" of mechanical pencils. YET ... the one I always reach for, and the one I use the most is my "Pentel Twist-Erase 0.7". I just love the way it writes and feels in my hand. And I love the huge eraser it has that seems to last forever 🤷🏼‍♀️ I use it to take notes at work, and also to notate music (I play piano) - which involves alot of writing, erasing, and re-writing. 🤣

Anyway, I had two of them, but mis-placed one while I was out the other day. And I know it seems silly, but I was actually irritated about losing a $5 mechanical pencil. 🤷🏼‍♀️ So irritated infact, that I went straight to Amazon and ordered a whole entire box of them, along with replacement leads and erasers. I have plenty of other pencils I can use, but for some reason, "this" is the one I always "want" to use. Does anyone else like these particular mechanical pencils as much as I do ?
