Anyone know why or what causes this? The one with the white splotches has two growing pumpkins and the fully green one has none. I planted them at the same time and purchased them as small plants from the same Home Depot.
I am growing jack o lantern pumpkins for the first time this year. They’ve been in the ground since June. I’ve only had male flowers so far until recently I believe. Can you confirm if these are females? What can I do to assist them to grow and open up? Some look elongated and discolored? I’m worried they will shrivel up, I think I saw a female that dried out and gave up. I live in Nebraska and it has been so so hot lately. I water daily and they are in compost and soil with sawdust on top of the soil (was a garden bed that I gave up on a few years ago). Anything helps. Thank you!!
