According to court documents, investigators believe Gilliard-Robinson (victim) arranged to sell marijuana before meeting the suspects. After the cash was taken, the victims drove away, but police say a vehicle pulled in front of them at a nearby traffic light and two gunmen got out and opened fire. Gilliard-Robinson tried to escape before crashing into a utility pole. He later died at the hospital, while the passenger survived.
Detectives identified a black Hyundai Genesis using surveillance video, witness cellphone footage, and a partial license plate.
Investigators say the vehicle was linked to Shannon, and cell phone location data placed him at the drug deal, the shooting scene, and along the suspects' escape route.
