Tuscany trail bikepacking. Are you coming?
It's my first bikepacking event. Now I've discovered that it's the biggest backpacking event in the world.
There are 6000 participants from all over the world.
It's 450km long round route in Tuscany. Planning to do it in 4 days.
Usually I ride a road bike. This time I am going to take my gravel bike.
My gear is ready and the bike is configured.
Later I am going to share my full setup and gear with images. Previously I've already published the full list of the equipment.
For sure I will forget to take something. But already two weeks ago I had a dedicated spot in my house to put all the gear there. So it seems all is prepared.
This weekend I will do a test ride with all the setup loaded. To see how it feels.
Sleeping pad. First I wanted to take a foam sleeping pad. Then I saw it was too voluminous, so ordered an inflatable one. It's very small. It has a lower insulation index (1.8r), though for May in Tuscany it should be fine because it will be 12 degrees celcius at night. In case it will be too cold I've taken a rescue thermo blanket.
Navigation. First I thought about using my smartphone, but it will be eating the battery, so it was decided to buy a bike computer. Igpsports 630s was the optimal option. It has 45 hours of battery capacity and a navigation mode.
Bags.
I tried to go minimalistic with the equipment.
12lt handle bar bag.
10-13 seat post bag.
2.4lt frame bag.
Powerbank. As I will be sleeping at campsites not sure that I will be able to charge my devices. First I thought to take my 10k mah, but I am afraid it will not be enough. So thinking about taking two powerbanks like that or maybe I will find a 20k mah power bank.
Food. I am not planning to cook. Tuscany as most of Italy has a lot of food to offer. Will be just taking some snacks with me.
Do you have any advice?
