Why did they try act like Sandrone was a threat?

In the pre Nod Krai quest, did anyone else feel like Sandrone was being set up as an actual possible antagonist? In Sumeru also, when Katheryne's puppetness was revealed, were we not supposed to think that she was slowly collecting data on us? If they were going to go the route they did with her character, why bother keeping up the illusion of a threat so late in the game?? Also was her being friends with Signora ever hinted..this specific thing bothers me a lot for some reason.

Im just a little confused. Sorry for jumping in so late into the discussion- ive kinda only just started wrapping up world quests and main quests.

Does anyone have any thoughts on this?

The Cryo statue definitely grabbed most people's attention (understandably) but it just disappears and is replaced by this scene. Why? The traveler seemed to blip in and out of the train, and the next time we see them they have a gun and the world outside the train is this shade of purple if im remembering correctly. Do you think hoyo is going to introduce a real and dream Snezhnaya?

Also, for the HSR players, does the colour scheme remind anyone else of the penacony area where we found Robin?

edit: I kinda meant this post in a lore/story prediction way and not train gameplay way but all discussions are welcome regardless!
