Why do so many commercial spaces still ignore restroom experience?

Most malls, theatres, offices, and commercial spaces spend heavily on interiors, branding, lighting, and customer experience.

But one important area still gets ignored in many places — restrooms.

In high-footfall environments, restrooms are used continuously throughout the day. During peak hours, maintenance becomes difficult without proper systems in place.

What’s interesting is how much this affects overall customer perception.

People may forget the interiors or service quality, but they usually remember a poorly maintained restroom experience.

Lately, I’ve been noticing more businesses moving toward smart restroom systems and automated hygiene solutions to improve maintenance and customer experience.

Do you think restroom infrastructure is still underestimated in commercial spaces?
