Devon vs Ivan: how does this one go?
I am seriously having a tough time predicting this one. Of course, I'm a noob who doesn't yet understand much about armwrestling, but here are my takes:
Pros in favour of Devon:
- hard to see him getting hooked, and he is still quite versatile on the left
- great defense, pronation is going to bust Ivan's wrist back surely. How does Ivan adapt from there? Doesn't he usually rely on cupping opponents in and either driving them to the side or stonewalling them in a hook?
Pros in favour of Ivan:
- Devon is going in with like 4 weeks of proper training, and has to cut 35 pounds in 5 weeks (won't be his SHW self like he was for Alex Kurdecha). His left arm is more vulnerable than his right: weaker backpressure, weaker inside game?
- Ivan's ability to hook is freakish, he has insane sidepressure and cup, and he is extremely fast. I can see him catching Devon off guard and getting him really close to the pinpad. He's given Morozov and Alizhan very tough matches
