Where to see the eclipse from Madrid?

Where to see the eclipse from Madrid?

Hey everyone. Me and my friends are traveling through Italy and Spain in August 2026, and we’ll be in Madrid from Aug 11-13 specifically for the eclipse. We don’t necessarily want to drive all the way to the centerline, honestly even ~40-60 seconds of totality would be amazing for us, but we do want a really good viewing experience with an open sunset horizon and hopefully less chaos/crowds.

Right now we’re looking at areas northeast/east of Madrid around Guadalajara / Cabanillas del Campo / Torrejón del Rey, but we’re not familiar with the region at all. Does anyone have recommendations for:

- good spots with open western views that aren't too far from Madrid (we want to visit madrid before going to see the eclipse),

- realistic traffic expectations that evening,

- whether booking a train ticket or booking a taxi would be the best option,

- and what time we should realistically leave Madrid that day?

We’re totally okay with staying out late after the eclipse if needed. Any tips from people familiar with eclipse chasing or the Madrid area would be super appreciated 😄

I attached an image showing roughly how far from the edge of the totality path we’d ideally like to be: close enough to experience some totality, but without needing to travel too far from Madrid.

Thanks!

Retail VS Rep White Ami Polo from Repsbrother

I ordered a white Ami piqué Polo Shirt from Repsbrother for a friend of mine and decided to compare it to my retail one.

Retail costs 350$CAD (around 255$USD), whereas the rep costs around 30$USD, so there is a huge price difference.

The texture/feel is definitely the biggest difference between the two polo shirts: the retail is way more breathable and more comfortable (it feels lighter) to wear than the rep, which feels more "dense". It is not uncomfortable, but it does not have the same easy/breathable feel as the retail one.

The color is also slightly different. The rep is a brighter white, while the retail has a slightly "softer" tone. It's not a big difference, but side by side you can notice it (not an easy call out).

The logo on both looks the same, the tags are softer on the retail and the inside tag is a bit different (maybe because of a different version/season being repped?). The QR code of the rep also leads to a verification page.

Considering the price difference and how similar the logo looks, I'd still recommend buying the polo from Repsbrother even though it's less breathable and its texture doesn't feel as premium as the retail.

I'd give the rep a 7.5/10.
