What’s the best way into a Mechanic/Engineering role (UK)? I’m a Mission Systems Engineer in a support role but help a lot with engineering diagnose and rectification, spend time in manuals and understand the general regulations. I also have an Aerospace Engineering Degree.

I know the best way is apprenticeships but they seem to be aimed at 16-18 year olds with no industry experience (I have 4). Plus it would be a massive pay cut which I wouldn’t be able to afford.

My aim is to become a B1 or 2 (unsure which yet, likely aim for B2). I learn better while doing so would start that once I’m on the tools.
