Private renting - advice on agencies

Hi all, I'm starting a masters in Bristol next month and currently looking for a room to rent. For various reasons I would prefer to rent privately rather than go for any of the uni accommodation.

I've done the usual, SpareRoom and various FB groups but obviously have heard finding a place in this city can be hellish so looking to explore other options too.

I'm coming from outside Bristol and it's been a long time since I was a student so I have no contextual knowledge as to which agencies and websites to trust/avoid. I was wondering if anyone has any experience with any of the following:

Finding housemates / flatshare as masters student

I'm moving to Bristol in early Sept to start a masters, and was wondering if anyone could recommend any good Facebook groups etc to find other UoB (or UWE) students to live with. I don't have any connections in the city and find SpareRoom very impersonal to use, so would be very grateful for any pointers or tips - thanks!

Laptop repair in Cardiff

Can anyone recommend a decently priced, reliable laptop repair shop or similar (ideally in the centre)?

My laptop is making a strange buzzing noise from the fan and I don't have the kit (or frankly, confidence in my computer skills) to take it apart at home.

I'm looking for a place that will take it apart in the shop while I am there so I don't have to leave it with them (possibly being paranoid, but I'm worried about accidental data wipes)
