Looking for advice/opinions from people who have had cervical stenosis surgery.
A relative of mine (56 years old; female) has cervical stenosis. A spine specialist that she met has recommended that she ideally get surgery (laminoplasty and fusion). She has narrowing of the spinal canal at multiple levels (C3-C7 broadly) but the worst is at C5-C6 (9.4mm). Her symptoms mainly include pain from the back to the right shoulder. No numbness of loss of coordination. Her strength is also judged okay by the doctor. She has been on PT and some nerve medications - some good days and some bad. We are wondering is surgery is the right option?
i would be extremely grateful to hear from people who have had this surgery and know about their experience. Thank you
